Yamaha Releases New Hardware and the EAD20 for 2026

Building off long-sustained success of the 600, 700, 800, and 900 series hardware over the past several years, Yamaha has once again raised the bar for drum hardware with the new 6, 7, 8, and 9 series hardware, now available from Drum Center of Portsmouth! Choose from single- and double-braced snare drum and cymbal stands, plus cymbal arm attachments and upgraded cymbal accessories. Core features include:

• Quick Release Nut (Cymbals Stands): Pinch-activated mechanism for fast cymbal mounting and removal. Features a metal screw and built-in locking mechanism to keep cymbals securely locked during heavy playing, with fine-tune tension control to adjust cymbal swing and resonance.
• Step-Free Tilter (Cymbals Stands): Enables smooth, stepless angle adjustments for exact cymbal placement without gear-notch limitations.
• Hinged Boom Tilter Clamp (Cymbals Stands): Fastens the boom arm securely on three sides with minimal tightening force, paired with an integrated memory lock for repeatable positioning.
• Ball Clamp Tilter (Snare Stands): Utilizes Yamaha's exclusive Ball Clamp design to provide quick, smooth, and flexible stepless adjustments across virtually limitless angles.
• Tone-Enhancing Basket Rubber (Snare Stands): Designed with an integrated air pocket between the rubber cushion and metal arm to prevent vibration damping, allowing the drum's natural resonance to bloom.
• Ergonomic Wing Bolts & Nuts: Refined wing shapes reduce hand strain when tightening firmly, ensuring comfortable adjustments during long setups and breakdowns.

EAD20 Electronic/Acoustic Mic/Trigger System

In addition to the hardware, Yamaha has also rounded out they're electronic/acoustic offerings with the EAD20, a perfect mid-point between the hugely popular EAD10 and the pro-level EAD50 drum mic/trigger systems.

The Yamaha EAD20 Electronic Acoustic Drum Microphone System eliminates the complex cabling, multiple stands, and external mixers usually required to mic an acoustic kit. By combining a bass drum hoop-mounted sensor unit with a powerful sound module, it instantly captures a clear stereo image of your entire kit while simultaneously serving as a dedicated kick trigger. Powered by the high-performance SWX100 sound engine with 512-note polyphony, the EAD20 elevates practice, studio recording, and live performances into an effortless, high-quality experience.
