The Gretsch Catalina Maple CM2-E627 is a comprehensive 7-piece shell pack designed for drummers who demand a massive tonal range without the professional price tag. From the piercing, melodic highs of the 8" rack tom to the deep, meaty low-end of the 16" floor tom, this kit provides the "Great Gretsch Sound" in a versatile configuration that excels in any musical genre.
2025 Engineering Upgrades
The 2025 edition introduces significant technical evolutions based on player feedback, focusing on resonance and mechanical reliability:
- Upgraded GTS Tom Suspension: A newly refined, low-profile off-the-shell mounting system allows the rack toms to "breathe," delivering noticeably longer sustain and a more natural, open tone.
- Full Range Snare Hardware: All snare drums now feature the newly designed Full Range Throw Off and Butt Plate, providing a smoother action and more reliable snare wire tensioning.
- Enhanced Hoops: Outfitted with 2.5mm triple-flanged hoops across all toms and snares, offering improved tuning stability and a focused attack.
Classic Gretsch Construction
At its core, the CM2-E627 maintains the formula that has made the Catalina Maple an industry favorite:
- 7-Ply Maple Shells: Built with Gretsch-formula maple for an explosive response, warm mids, and a balanced frequency spectrum.
- 30-Degree Bearing Edges: Maximizes the surface contact between the head and the shell to produce a dry, punchy, and vintage-inspired tone.
- Remo Drum Heads: Every drum comes fitted with professional Remo heads right out of the box, ensuring you are stage-ready from day one.
7-Piece Shell Configuration
- Bass Drum: 22x16
- Rack Toms: 8x7, 10x7, 12x8
- Floor Toms: 14x14 & 16x16
- Snare Drum: 14x6.5
Available in DCP's exclusive Gloss Natural finish, the Catalina Maple 7-piece shell pack is a visual and sonic powerhouse for any stage.
